s2m's comments: This fic has given me new appreciation for Manly Movies. ^^ The author's almost exclusive use of Dom's POV is done well, and it is interesting to read a story told by someone with such a violent personality so different from mine! I was particularly impressed with how the author hinted at Brian's hidden attraction to Dom, and the latter's slow realization of Brian's emotions. Very nice. The fic does lose its focus about two thirds of the way through, and the ending kind of dribbles in. It's clear the author wasn't sure where to take the story next, but I still enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the fic muchly, and while it does have some plot holes, the story and writing render them (somewhat) easily overlooked. Heeee!

The author has synonym problems and mixes up or omits smaller prepositions, but the story easily outshines the errors (even if a horse's "reigns" are one of my pet peeves).

s2m's comments: I devoured this fic in 24 hours. :D The writing is very rough at the beginning, but it does--slowly--improve. This is another instance of a story's intrigue outweighing the technical problems. This one has some unusual plot wrinkles (Kasumi has a libido OMG), very likable OCs, and made me consider certain aspects of canon from a different angle. I feel I should point out the author's admitted dislike of Ryouga and particularly of Shampoo results in some serious character bashing. The author also believes in long author's notes; I ended up skipping them after a few chapters because they could be rather spoilery. Regardless, this fic is an engrossing read! It does leave lots of loose ends, but I still think it's well worth it.

The occasional third-person chapter is a shock and not nearly as well-written, but stick it out. Overall, the fic is very enjoyable and satisfying.
